North Austin Aquatic League

The Gators Swim Team is a member of the North Austin Aquatic League and follows the rules set forth by the ByLaws of the NAAL. Periodically these rules change from year to year.

The funds from each Gators season are used for that year and go towards the NAAL dues, coaches, pools, equipment, t-shirts, trophies and swimmer events. All the parents who work on Gators are Parent Volunteers and are not paid. This is how our costs are kept down. All of our teams participate in a championship meet at the end of our season. After our championship meet we have an end of year banquet honoring everyone for all their hard work.

All documentation for NAAL is located on their website.

Champs Eligibility Requirements

Swimmers 7 and older must swim in at least two individual events in at least two dual meets to be eligible for any post season Champions Meet. Swimmers 6 and under must swim in at least one individual event in at least two dual meets to be eligible for any post season meet.. Times must be achieved during the current season.

To be eligible to swim in the Championship Meet(s), all swimmers must have a dual meet time in their entered events (no NT entries in Championship Meet). Swimmers must have at least one legal time in an individual event to be eligible to swim this event in a Championship Meet. (i.e. a 7-year old swimmer swims breaststroke in 2 Dual Meets and achieves 1 legal time and 1 DQ, then they are eligible to swim breaststroke in the Championship Meet). A swimmer does not have to have a legal time in a stroke to be able to swim it in a relay, only in an individual event. Neither Inner-squad meets nor Time Trials fulfill this requirement, unless approved by two-thirds of the league representatives. To be entered into a championship 25m event, all swimmers regardless of age, must be under the time standard of 1:00 for meters or 0:55 for yards.
